What happens in this is that, over a period of time, when women tend to behave obedient to their husbands, it becomes a part of their identity and they often do not go against their husbands’ will even when they are required to and when the husband is morally or principally wrong. In another research by Sugihara and Katsurada, they found out that during the 80’s and 90’s, there came a shift in responsibilities between men and women, in which men started to work outdoors for longer hours and became the dominant wage earners, whereas women started to look after the house and children’s upbringing. This was also being researched by Freinerwho stated that this trend was a significant change in the identity dissolution and formation. When women were more responsible for children’s upbringing, it is imperative that the children will have most of the values being taught by their mother compared to what a father would teach them. Imparting values is one of the ways of developing identity traits that are given to a child when it grows, but there is a tendency of developing one’s own identity when the person grows up, and this applies both to women and men.
