It is to be noted here that the author states that legacy admissions register better academic records than the normal admissions. But if the general case is analyzed, this is more of an exception than a rule. There is no supporting research on the fact that there exists positive correlation between the legacy candidates admitted and the respective grades. There are innumerous cases of students which were not admitted through the route of legacy admissions but have been quite successful in their professional arena. One such example is of the legendary Bill Gates who was not a legacy admission.
The case of legacy admissions cannot be directly compared with the admissions given to students who excel in other fields pertaining to non-academics. It is because the latter case awards the students on the basis of their own merit and potential while the former case rewards candidates on the basis of the financial capital base of their parents and ancestors. This is beyond the control of individuals and is not a representative of the merit of the potential candidate but his/her luck which led to him/her being born in an affluent family. On the other hand, people who have excelled in non-academic field of different talents and interests have achieved the excellence on account of their own hard work which should be recognized and rewarded by the admissions. Thus favorable treatment on this ground is justified by the fact that those who excel in non-academic fields have also been found to excel in their professional arena and must be thus rewarded. The scope of education is not merely limited to academics but its main aim is to shape the talents and the skills of the individuals so as to equip them to meet the challenges as and when they arise in their professional field on a pro-active basis.

如果遗产招生不能直接与招生由于出色的学生，在其他领域有关的非学者。这是因为后者授予学生的基础上，他们自己的优点和潜力，而前者奖励候选人的基础上，金融资本基础的他们的父母和祖先。这是无法控制的个人，并不代表其优点的潜在的候选人，但他/她的运气，导致他/她出世在一个富裕的家庭。另一方面，人们都在非学术领域有不同的天赋和兴趣已经取得了卓越因自身的努力应该得到承认和奖励的招生。因此，良好的治疗这一理由是有道理的是，那些在非学术领域也被发现在其擅长的专业领域，必须因此奖励。教育的范围不仅仅限于学者，但其主要目的是塑造人才和技能的人以装备他们迎接挑战时，出现在他们的专业领域的一个积极的基础。
