Psychoacoustics can be defined as the study of the perception of particular sounds. The perception that is developed depends on the environment. This perception of sound could vary between the individual dogs. The focus of this study is primarily on the behavioural aspect. This study was done to comprehend about the behaviour of the dogs. Music can be defined as a combination of sound and resonance pattern. The mind is programmed in such a way that the mind expects the sound pattern to be repeated at regular intervals. When the sound pattern is not repeated at regular sound pattern and the decibel level of the sound is not uniform. The mind gets irritated and agitated. This triggers anxiety and psychological responses. From observations it is found that the dogs get agitated more to noise than people. Dogs though are adaptable animals cannot accustom itself to loud noises (Leeds & Wagner, 2008).

Bioacoustics is actually the study of the effects of the sound in beings other than humans. Hence this study is actually the bioacoustics study in dogs. It has been found from the bioacoustics studies that the effect of music in dogs has ensured the dogs to have a longer stress-free life span. Therefore it can be said that bioacoustics will impact on the separation anxiety that dogs suffer.
