However, for many societies it is considered as a taboo. It is unethical and unlawful to sell a product that is not actually the product one has advertised. It is also considered unethical because if the horse was a sports horse then a drug, drug phenylbutazone, could have entered into human body. This drug is not allowed in animal meat that is consumed by humans. It was also thought that horse meat contains Equine infectious anaemia which is not harmful to humans but can cause poor living.
