In the early 19th century, the US took a radical left turn to democracy to reconstruct the state and society. The presidents at that time were focused on bringing the Southern United States to normal as quickly as possible after civil war (Tocqueville, 2010). The same was achieved through destroying the slavery and slave power and suppression of the all forms of Confederate Nationalism.
Ancient System of SA and Capitalism system
The ancient system of Sa was highly focused on survival, labor intensity, insurance principle, extended family, multi cropping, and ecological conservatively. On the contrary, the capitalism system is focused on business ethics, jobs, services, goods, and business social responsibilities. The capitalism system is an economic based system wherein the means of productivity, industry, and trade are entirely or largely privately owned (Welsh, 2009). The capitalism system is highly focused on profits, whereas the ancient system was focused on enhancing the rate of slavery so that maximal productivity can be earned.
Business Social Responsibilities
The business social responsibilities today are highly focused on aligning the business activities with ethics so that the people can be dealt with ethicality and each of the goods and services provided to them are of highest quality. The business social responsibilities today are concerned with both environmental and social responsibilities. On the contrary, the business social responsibilities in 1830s were about labor intensity and ecological conservative. The 1830s did not experience the industrialization much, thus the business social responsibilities was about the safeguard of land through multi cropping (Carroll & Buchholtz, 2006). On the other hand, today the business social responsibilities cover a wide range of issues. These issues include the preferences of people and adequate workforce environment to the employees. The similar concerns were not there in 1830s as the business was just about productivity, that lead to increase in the level of slavery.
