They are able to provide a wide selection of products. They also offer a lot of discounted products and are priced aggressively. They have the latest digital marketing tools. Wal-Mart considers Amazon to be a formidable opponent. They are aggressive competitors who are showing steady growth in the past decade. The methods used by Wal-Mart in Supply Chain management can be taken as a classic example of refinement of Technology and technology application to varying chain centre. Strict implementation of Technology and constant monitoring and forecasting the needs based upon the reports with the suppliers had a miracle effect in reducing the operational costs for the company and for the Suppliers. The Volume of sales achieved by Wal-Mart is achieved only by constant Inventory Management.  Even if a proper Inventory control is maintained, to keep a track of the sold and unsold items, and the damaged / replaceable goods can be achieved only through its capable logistics and Wal-Mart has that.
