The research design to determine the influence of Brexit on UK’s financial market is complex as this connects the political and economic aspects of a country and the proposed design should assist with proper decisions. The idea is to create a research design that can be executed within the country and a large number of participants should be included as it is a problem of the masses.
Qualitative research technique is chosen to conduct this study. Qualitative technique implies the collection and management of data that are non-numerical by nature. This may include surveys, interviews and case studies that give better understanding on the study and also the research results will become credible. The reason behind choosing this is that it is essential to learn the influence as impacts and this is also related to people’s experiences rather than the numerical representation. Quantitative research technique, which deals with manipulation of numerical data, would have been the right option if it dealt with the factor that influences highly. However, the question here is different and it is particular about the areas of influence due to the event of Brexit.
Research setting is the next area of research methodology. This deals with the type of environment that is set for the respondents to engage in this research. Depending on the sensitivity of the subject, it could be a closed environment or open. The research setting here is exposed to market participants who belong to different locations of capital markets. Capital markets are largely owned by people in the country with external investors. Soon after Brexit was announced, several countries have to step back from the relationship as the prices were going down and there is a possibility for loss if invested further. The capital market leaders from various industries have been highly vulnerable to the situation.
