Culture is a complicated word and it means different things to different people. Culture has been a noun which was associated with a process, like when used in cattle farming, animal farming, etc. It then developed into extended meaning along with the human development progress and took the name of individual or religious culture. People then took culture as their right to use while addressing their habituated pattern of living. Civilization increased since the 1900’s and the culture of different countries took different forms. It began to be named as a specific culture and so on. Culture then began to be associated with spiritual and material being associated with civilization progress. This thought became dominant and came to be regarded as the rightful meaning, following which the architectural practices and designs took the cultural values to reflect in their designs and showcase their art. The primary idea of the word is the difficulty in it being associated with so many varied definitions of the same word. This has made it a disaster in designing new architectural designs and buildings, because there is no universal culture. The landscape designs as mentioned earlier were also considered as part of a specific culture and took the form of divisional thinking on the part of landscape culture and designs. The idea of culture is still being regarded in terms of the high art knowledge and the popular culture contexts by many scholars, but broadly it has become a confusing word to derive a meaning from. The author was interested to see architecture as a cultural and technological reflection rather than a broad statement of multiple meanings. The architecture associated with the culture coincided with the natural blending of landscape and settlements which required probably minimal effort to fit and adjust with each other. It instead, complimented each other by adding their individual strengths to form a single piece of meaningful architecture. The use of tiled roofs and white washed walls in ancient times gelled well with the cultural identity and the works of architecture were of high order, having a tightly controlled outdoor and indoor space.
