Two way symmetric model or method of public relation is more honest method as compared to the two way asymmetric method. This is because of the reason because in this communication from both the sides are given equal considerations. This model is use to carry out negotiation with the public, solve various kinds of disputes and promote a mutual feeling of understanding and respect in between the public and the organizations. Thus, under this method of public relation the public relation executives of an organization listens to various issues of the customers and accordingly tries to bring changes in the products or solve the issues. The job of Public Relation Executives in this model becomes bit tough because they have to listen and understand the problems from all the sides like organization as well as public but get paid only by the organizations (Grunig, 2002). But again the reputation of an organization is also dependent on how well the public relationship executive handles such type of tasks or situations. According to Gruing and Hunt the two way asymmetric model ensures that all the people involved in a case gets benefitted and not just few people. If a customer requirement is met, at the same time the organization should also be benefitted. One of the current examples can be educational institutions, where continuous negotiation with public is carried out. The feedback of the students and their families matters a lot for the development of the organization. The public relation tries to sort problems in such a manner that the students also gets benefitted as well the educational organization and along with it the teachers and other staffs. The changes are made according to the mutual consent. Thus, two way symmetric model is used by various government agencies and NGO’s. In this case the organization is made to change with mutual consent rather than the mind of the people.
